Frontier Africa is a team of Marketing and Business Professionals driven to provide objective advice and cost effective solutions to ensure the sustained growth of SMME’s in South Africa.

We are affordable, professional, approachable and passionate about making your business more efficient and effective and we get results!

Frontier Africa was founded in September 2009 by Simon Stockil, as a Strategic Marketing Company. It offered the services of an advertising agency / marketing consultancy through the co-ordination of various Marketing freelance service providers and pioneered the ‘Outsourced Marketing Management’ model in South Africa.
Over the years Frontier Africa has work and partnered with numerous local and international companies from start-ups to NGO’s to Multi-Nationals providing a variety of services across a spectrum of sectors. The team has also grown to include in house graphic designers and client service specialists.

The other members who make up the extended Frontier Africa team, run their own successful freelance businesses in Consulting, Training, Graphic Design, Web Development, Online Marketing, Production, PR and Events, but have partnered with Frontier Africa to offer a holistic business support service.

Bulk discounts and supplier agreements are in place to ensure that Frontier Africa clients receive these world class services at the most competitive rates.

Going forward, Frontier Africa’s goal is to become the Strategic Marketing and Business Partner for Small and Medium Sized Companies in South Africa, while building on our existing relationships with our Corporate Strategic Business Partners.

Simon Stockil

Simon leverages a decade of Business, Marketing and Sales Management experience across a range of industries to understand clients’ marketing challenges and help drive growth. He has been involved in the development of marketing strategies and managing their implementation for many leading South African brands.

With a keen eye for entrepreneurial opportunity, and to broaden his marketing experience he has enjoyed a variety of managerial roles in a relatively short space of time.

Simon has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics majoring in Marketing and Mercantile Law from the University of Stellenbosch, graduating Cum Laude for Entrepreneurship as well as an Honours degree in Commerce through UNISA, graduating Cum Laude in Strategic Marketing.

He was also selected for Business Leadership training with Nedbank in 2004, Sales and Marketing training with SABMiller in 2006 and Liberty Life Financial Advisory training in 2010.

He is passionate about living life to the full, and driving innovation to provide clients with forward-thinking ideas for improving sales and service delivery.

Charlotte Pawley


Charlotte graduated from Brighton University with a BA Hons in Graphic Design in 2001. Her first job was with the Guardian Newspaper in London before going on to work for a small design agency. Since 2006 she has done part time freelance work while working on outback cattle stations in Australia and in Game Reserves in South Africa. She is now a full time designer and has been a part of the Frontier Africa team since 2011.
